Legal import process according to Brazilian regulations:
Clearance is allowed only for the importer through his authorized customs broker and not permitted for third parties
such as Courier Companies.
Some imports require previous Import License (G/I) which cannot be obtained after merchandise has entered Brazilian
territory.
Invoice needs to declare precisely net weight, brand, model and type of the merchandise, which have to
correspond exactly to the actually shipped merchandise
In case of failures or differences considered by customs officials as smuggling, merchandise cannot be returned
to the sender without payment of penalties and taxes.
Clearance by customs is given after payment of import tax, IPI tax, ICMS tax and customs broker charges.
