| "The Snakes of Brazil" CD-ROM is a real adventure throughout the Brazilian forests. lt contains over 200
pictures and movies, as well as complete information on each and every Brazilian snake. These are among the
largest, most venomous and exotic snakes in the world. This soft contains various access means such as;
alphabetical order, scientific or popular name, legends, families, biologicai aspects, and also a picture of each
snake. ln this way, the user is able to find out how these reptiles live, hunt, and reproduce. Educational maps illustrate their distribution among the Brazilian regions and different types of vegetation. There are many curious assets in this particular CD-ROM such as - Images of the mating of these snakes, which includes the male's strange forklike sharp-pointed penis which keeps the female from escaping; - Pictures of the "egg's tooth" used by the snake to break the egg from within, and that drops right after bírth; - The simulation of how snakes "see" their prey even though they are shortsighted; - Movies showing scenes of attack, venom extraction, hunting and eating, aside from especial orientation, in order to distinguish the venomous snakes from the nonvenomous ones.
